"It's not the walls that make the city, but the people who live within them."
- King George VI - Tweet
You know something, I thought the capital city London wasn’t going to be as exciting as I thought it would be, but boy I was wrong. Once I saw the massive billboards advertising and the reflection of the skyscrapers towering overhead, I fell in love with what I saw…
1. It's Beauty
Our trip with the University was surreal for me, you have probably gathered clever people that I haven’t ever been to London before. So my reaction to many people on the coach as a bit over the top and excitable. I want to start by saying that with what I saw of London I want to go there again, it just seems so big and exciting to explore. (I am always up for an adventure). But our trip was specifically for The Tower of London. I must admit I was picturing a massive tall tower but apart from that and the really inflated prices of food, I was in awe with the entire day.

It is important to mention though that I wouldn’t have enjoyed that day without the company of some great friends of mine. Actually if I’m honest they are better than great! We even had a subway after the Tower of London, played a few games of hangman and even had a reading of 50 Shades of Grey! Don’t ask you had to be there!
The tower itself I thought was a very fascinating place and no it wasn’t just because of the enthusiastic tour guides or even the crown jewels (damn the monarchy had some bling) I absolutely loved the architecture and the feel of the place. I felt as if I was travelling through time in some locations climbing the really and I mean really tight spiral staircases that led many to either a sense of security or a definite state of doom.
I wondered thorughout the day that was I menat to be shown this? Is their a hidden message or secret layed between the bricks of these foreboding walls? I mean with the Princes in the Tower this place has really seen a lot. I wander what it would say to us if it could speak. This trip was great for inspiration and rekindling motivation (as I had been struggling to motivate myself). To see the history and the past unfold in front of our eyes was spellbinding and made me wonder what will the future hold for all us. This is why Humanity students are important, we notice more often than not the implications that things have on our world. A world that I don;t know about you but I am ready to explore…
Thank you for reading!! I hope you have a nice day!!
Take care now!!!
Harry, 🙂
